MIDLANDS/NORTHERN Areas Points Competition.


Open to Exmoor ponies owned or used by a paid up member of the Exmoor Pony Society. A member may enter as many ponies as he\she wishes, but each pony must have a separate entry form and points sheet available from the Competition Secretary, sykes.d2@sky.com

Points may be gained at any level or type of show or event and are scored as follows:

1st place  - 10          Reserve Champion - 15
2nd place - 8            Champion - 20
3rd place - 6            Res. Supreme Champion - 25
4th place - 4            Supreme Champion - 30
5th place - 2            Best of Breed - 15
6th place - 1

Bonus points may also be scored as follows:

3 - For a clear round in any showjumping or WHP class
3 - For a clear round jumping or handy pony competition (1 per show)
6 - For attending a Pony Club or Riding Club Rally, or Driving Meet (per day)
6 - For completing a hunter trial or cross country event
6 - For completing a driving competition
6 - For completing a dressage or Prix Caprilli test
2 - Per mile for sponsored or long distance rides or drives
6 - Per half day hunting
6 - For completing a LeTrec competition
3 - For attending a LeTrec training session
Northern/Midland Exmoor Events - double points are awarded



No official signature is required for points gained, but the name and date of the event and the name and address of the event secretary must be quoted on the score sheets. Any placings/points not detailed in this way will not count for points. Entries may be subject to random accuracy checks.

The competition will run from 1st November to 31  October the following year and will be in two sections, youngstock and adult pony. In Hand Classes are included in each section. Ponies under 4 years old may only claim points for In Hand classes.  A Junior member is aged 16 or under on 1 January in the competition year.

Entry fee for each pony £5.00. Competition entries must be received by the Competition Secretary no later than November 5th, following the close of the competition for that year. No late entries. Safe arrival of entry forms within the allowed time is entirely the responsibility of the competitor. Entries will only be accepted on the correct form. Please staple or clip multiple sheets together.

The organisers reserves the right to refuse any entry, or alter or amend any aspect of the competition if deemed necessary.

Prizes will be presented at the Area Social Evening, usually held in December each year. Rosettes will be awarded to 5th place in each section, and each unplaced entry will receive a rosette. The following special awards will also be made:
